Conference notes the long tradition that Congress has for speaking out for those marginalised in Irish Society Asperger's Syndrome is a pervasive developmental disorder at the high functioning end of the Autistic spectrum. Individuals with the Syndrome can experience significant difficulties with social interaction, communication and flexible thinking. Early intervention is essential in diagnosing those with Asperger's and it is important that sufficient funding is provided for this purpose. A small amount of funding will go a long way in the treatment and support of Asperger's suffering Conference instructs the Executive Council to make appropriate representation to Government to ensure this happens.
