Role of Retired Members in Trade Unions

Conference recognises the contribution that retired members have made and indeed are continuing to make to the trade union movement. In order that their skills may be fully utilised within their own unions and in the wider movement, this BDC agrees that ICTU will carry out a mapping exercise which will identify the role that retired members play within each union and the structures which exist to enable them to participate fully. This will enable 'best practice' to be identified and introduced throughout the movement.
