Giant banners created from a mosaic of photos, shared by hundreds of people across Ireland, have been unfurled on Parnell Square at ICTU and Mandate’s buildings in Dublin.
The purpose is to send 'a powerful message of love and care to the communities in and around Parnell Square after recent violence and disturbances in the city centre. Together we are stronger, we have each other's back, that our communities are welcoming, and staying united has never been more important'.
Siobhán O' Donoghue, Executive Director of Uplift, the social justice campaign group said, 'So many people, organisations, unions, schools, funders got involved and it's a testimony of what we can do together in the face of hate and attempts to divide us. The Rowan Trust, St Stephen's Green Trust, Community Foundation Ireland, ICTU, Mandate, SIPTU, INMO, INTO, Fórsa, LGBT Ireland, MRCI, Treoir, Outhouse, National Youth Federation, Educate Together, Hope and Courage Collective, Doras Luimni, are involved in the project.
