The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has confirmed that a draft report on the issue of pay restoration for workers in Section 39 organisations has been presented to Congress Health Sector Unions, for their consideration. The draft report shows that workers in Section 39 organisations had their pay reduced in line with their colleagues in the public health sector, during the economic downturn. While it shows that, in a small number of cases, pay restoration has commenced the draft report also confirms that the vast majority of workers in these organisations are still to see any progress on this matter. The Congress Health Sector Unions will carefully consider the content of this draft report in the coming days and will meet next week to respond in full to its contents.
