Congress statement on Grafton College
The General Secretary of Congress Patricia King has voiced Congress support for teachers and staff at Grafton College language school which recently closed down.
Patricia King expressed concern that trade union members had not been paid by the owner and should immediately be paid what they are owed.
'this situation is totally unacceptable, particularly as young teachers had commitments and families to care for with Christmas around the corner", she said.
The General Secretary said Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh must work urgently to resolve the issue and move quickly to ensure that language schools are regulated to prevent a re-occurrence of this kind of event.
