The CWU, IBOA and MANDATE have (30/08/2012) launched an equality policy for trade unions at the Banker's Club in Dublin. The resource was produced with the support of the Equality Mainstreaming Unit of the Equality Authority and was officially launched by Judge Yvonne Murphy. The project also resulted in an Equality Toolkit consisting of:
- Training Manual on Equality, including tutor's manual - 3 modules
- Model Equality Policy for Trade Unions
- Equality Handbook for Representatives
- Brief equality presentations for inclusion on representative training courses
- Pre-course and post-course questionnaires

Earlier in the day about 50 women trade unionists gathered to discuss the role of women in trade unions, an event supported by Trade Union Skillnets. Presentattions included those by Congress Assistant General Secretary, Sally Anne Kinahan and Tom Healy, Director of the Nevin Economic Research Institute (NERI).
