Trade unions across Europe have joined forces to build support for the protection of decent working conditions for transport workers in all EU member states.
Fair Transport Europe is organised by the European Transport Federation (ETF) and is asking supporters across Europe to sign up online to protect decent work in the transport sector and prevent a race to the bottom in terms of wages and conditions
The initiative is supported by Congress, with General Secretary Patricia King urging affiliate unions to help enlist support for the campaign and encourage members to sign the petition.
"If we can demonstrate strong support for decent work in the transport sector, then it becomes far easier to make the case for good pay and conditions in all sectors of the economy, in Ireland and across the European Union."
