Sexual harassment can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Yet all too often, it happens in the workplace.
Some examples of behaviour that could constitute sexual harassment are: unwanted indecent or suggestive remarks; questions, jokes, or suggestions about your sex life; the circulation of pornography (by email, for example); unwelcome and inappropriate touching, hugging or kissing; requests or demands for sexual favours; any unwelcome behaviour of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive working environment for a person.
To allow Congress to effectively campaign for a more robust reporting process and greater protection for workers who report such incidents, we are surveying all members with experience of sexual harassment and abuse at work.
To be eligible to participate in this research, you must –
- Have experienced at least one type of sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape at work AND;
- Work in RoI or NI AND;
- Be a member of a trade union.
The questionnaire will take 5-10 minutes to complete and the answers you give are anonymous.
