Over 130 TDs, Senators and MEPs are in support of the Congress Charter for Fair Conditions at Work and want to see its key provisions implemented.
In addition, eight County Councils around the country have passed motions in support of the Charter, along with some 200 individual councillors who have endorsed the Charter.
Congress expects to release full details on all the individual politicians and parties that supported the Charter and those who declined to endorse it in the coming weeks, in advance of the expected General Election.
The Charter commits to; a Living Wage; Fair Hours of Work, Right to Union Representation, Respect and Equality at Work and Fair Public Procurement.
Over the course of several months, Congress met and briefed politicians and political parties and sought support across the political spectrum for the Charter, with parties clearly advised that Congress would make the results of the campaign known and available to union members and the wider public.
To date, the Councils that have voted motions in support of the Charter are: Dublin City Council, Cork City and County Council, Kerry County Council, Tipperary County Council, Sligo Country Council, Kilkenny County Council and Leitrim
